- Dr. Houng Sun is the Chairman & President of Mirle Automation Corp, and the Honor Chairman of Taiwan Society of Manufacturing & Automation.
- Having Worked with Metal Industries Research & Development Centre since 1973, Dr. Sun transferred to Mechanical Industry Research Laboratories (MIRL) and served as an engineer in 1976. Then in 1977, taking the leadership role for the “Precision Gear Technology Training & Development Project”and the demonstrative factory of precision gear manufacturing, he has promoted the education and training for 20 engineers, and established the global level technology of precision gear and transmission system for Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). He has been appointed as the Director and then promoted to the Deputy General Director, and hosted the R&D project of CNC Gear Grinding during this time, which received the patent from R.O.C. and U.S.A. Furthermore, in order to enhancing efficiency and integrating sources, he developed the “Matrix R&D Management System” for projects planning for MIRL. He also hosted the execution of national project for The R&D of Automation Industrial Technology, which has fruitful results and strived the prosperous future on the development of production automation in Taiwan.
- Span off from ITRI in Mar., 1989, Mirle Automation Corp., led by Dr. Sun, has successfully become the one of the largest leaders in automation system integrators and related product manufacturer. In 1992, Dr. Sun received the award of Top 10 Outstanding Engineers from Chinese Institute of Engineers, and in 2016 received the award of "ITRI Laureate"for the recognition of his excellent performance in precision machinery and automation.
- Dr. Sun has been the chairman for Allied Association for Science Parks Industries from 1993 to 1999. He devoted himself to promote the image and reputation for this association during this time. In 1996, he received the award of Excellent Director of BOD from Chinese National Federation of Industries.
